Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, February 12

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, February 12, 2022:

A cold front will move through the area today, ushering a mutli-day cold spell.

Temperatures will remain in the mid 30s through the morning and into the afternoon hours. Some brief fluctuations into the upper 30s will be possible, especially before noon.

Late in the afternoon, temperatures will start to drop. Evening temperatures will reach the mid 20s, and overnight temperatures will fall well into the 10s.

Southwest winds early this morning will turn to the west before midday, and then to the northwest late in the day. Wind speeds will be 10-15 mph with gusts occasionally getting over 30 mph.

A few rain showers will be possible early in the morning, but precipitation will turn over to snow. Most of the snow showers will be brief, but a couple could briefly turn heavy. Overall accumulations will be up to or under an inch.

The chance for some snow showers will persist into the evening, but with similarly minimal accumulations and impacts.

Sunday: A few lake effect snow showers, especially early. Morning lows in the upper 0s. Afternoon highs in the mid 10s.

Monday: Some early clouds giving way to sunshine. Morning lows near -5. Afternoon highs near 10.

Tuesday: Plenty of sun. Maybe a brief flurry. Morning lows near -5. Afternoon highs in the mid 20s.

Wednesday: Sun and thin clouds. Morning lows near 10. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
