Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, February 14, 2022:

An area of high pressure will build in from the west today, keeping the weather fairly quiet and a bit chilly.

Some snow showers will be possible this morning off Lake Ontario. Any snow that falls should be light and sporadic. Between the snow showers, a little sun may poke out.

Through the afternoon, the chances for snow will diminish and the chances for sun will increase. By the end of daylight, skies should be mostly clear.

Winds will be out of the northwest at around 10 mph until the late afternoon. Around sunset, winds will turn toward the west, and then to the southwest tonight.

The northwest winds will hold temperatures at bay with highs barely getting above 10 degrees. Tonight, temperatures will quickly fall to around 0 degrees and should end up a few degrees below zero by Tuesday morning.

Skies tonight will become partly cloudy, but no precipitation is expected.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows 0 to -5. Afternoon highs near 20.

Wednesday: Sun and thin clouds early, then becoming mostly cloudy. Morning lows near 10. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Thursday: Increasing clouds. Rain and wind late. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Friday: Any lingering rain quickly turning to snow, then ending. Morning temperatures in the mid 20s. Afternoon temperatures falling to the upper 10s.
