Cincinnatus Lions Advance to Sectional Quarter-Finals After Beating Brookfield at Home (Photos Included)

After a first round bye, the Cincinnatus Lions (#3 seed) defeated Brookfield (#19 seed) in the second round of the Section III Class D Sectional Tournament with a score of 59-41. 

Cincinnatus has also been ranked #7 in New York State for Class D since February 15th. 

Cincinnatus started things off well with a 28-17 lead at halftime. The Lions scored a total of 20 points in the second quarter. 

The Lions then extended their lead by outscoring Brookfield 31-24 in the second half to ultimately win the game, and make their way to the quarter-final stage of the sectional tournament. 

The Lions were led by Cason Stafford (22 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals, 6 assists & 2 blocks) and Scott Schuyler (16 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals, 3 assists & 1 block)

Brookfield was led by Kaden Ondrako (16 points) and Spencer Warner (15 points).

Up next, Cincinnatus will host Madison (#6 seed) in the quarter-final round of the sectional tournament. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6pm on Tuesday (February 22nd).
