Multiple vehicles broken into at ski resort in Truxton

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office received multiple complaints in the early afternoon hours of Feb. 20 for “theft of items from locked vehicles” in the parking lot of the Labrador Mountain Ski Resort in the town of Truxton.

According to a report, the county sheriff’s office notes that all of the incidents involved “the windows of vehicles being smashed and items removed from within the vehicles.”

The investigation is ongoing, the report states. Those who either witnessed suspicious activity or have information related to the vehicle break-ins are asked to contact Sgt. Anthony Phelps (of the County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division) at 607-758-6151.

The county sheriff’s office reminded county residents to “make sure their vehicles are locked.”

“When possible, items of value are left home or kept (with an individual),” the report states.
