Armed robbery reported at store in Cortlandville

An armed robbery was reported at the Top Ten Smoke Shop in the town of Cortlandville in the early morning hours of Friday, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

County sheriff’s deputies responded to the call at 12:56 Friday morning. Upon investigation, it was discovered that “at least two males entered the store and displayed weapons at the victims,” the report states.

According to Capt. Chad Burhans over the phone Friday afternoon, there were two victims that were part of the incident.

The report notes the two male suspects left the smoke shop with “an undisclosed amount” of money. No injuries were reported during the incident, the report states.

Burhans noted that the two male suspects drove away from the scene in a silver-colored, four-door sedan. Burhans declined to further provide information on the investigation, but added an update could be released in the near future.
