Three suspects were arrested in connection to the armed robbery that took place at the Top Ten Smoke Shop in the town of Cortlandville on March 4, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

Gage M. Smith, 18, was arrested on March 4 at 10:28 p.m. Abigail J. Maricle, 21, was arrested on March 7 at 5:43 p.m. Smith and Maricle both live at the same residence on Elm Street, the report states.

A 17-year old juvenile was also arrested on March 7 in relation to the armed robbery. Capt. Chad Burhans of the county sheriff’s office declined to provide the name of the juvenile, and details on his arrest.

According to the report, two suspects entered the smoke shop and “displayed weapons at (two) victims.” Burhans declined to provide details on the weapons used in the incident.

The suspects left the store with “an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency” and fled in what was originally reported as a silver-colored, four-door sedan. The recent report, however, noted the vehicle was in fact a tan Toyota Camry.

No injuries were reported during the incident, the report states. Burhans said the suspects did not threaten the victims’ lives with the weapons.

Burhans declined to provide further information on the March 4 incident, adding that the investigation is ongoing.

Smith, Maricle and the juvenile were each charged with first-degree robbery (a Class-B felony), second-degree burglary (a Class-C felony), third-degree grand larceny (a Class-D felony) and fourth-degree conspiracy (a Class-E felony).

Smith was arraigned at 9 a.m. March 5 through the central arraignment procedure (CAP). He is currently being held on $500 cash bail/$1,000 bond.

Maricle was arraigned at 5:43 p.m. on March 7 through CAP. She was released from jail.
