Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, March 18, 2022:

Another mild, quiet day is ahead as our taste of Spring continues.

Skies will be sun-filled through the morning hours, but an approaching weather system will cause clouds to move in for the afternoon.

Despite becoming mostly cloudy, no precipitation is expected during the daytime hours.

A stray shower cannot be ruled out this evening, but most areas should stay dry then, too. Finally, after midnight, rain chances will increase as a warm front lifts north through the region.

Winds today will be light and variable. Wind speeds will be under 5 mph and the wind direction will shift around. For the most part, winds will be somewhere between the west, north, and northeast.

Temperatures will be very warm once again with afternoon highs pushing into the mid 60s. The northern part of the county will be a couple degrees cooler than the south.

Tonight, temperatures will hover around or just under 50 degrees for much of the night before dipping into the mid 40s just before dawn.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Saturday: Periods of rain showers, especially in the afternoon. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Sunday: Rain showers through midday. Maybe some very late sun. Morning temperatures in the mid 40s. Afternoon temperatures near 40.

Monday: Lots of sunshine. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Tuesday: Morning sun. Afternoon clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.
