Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, March 21, 2022:

Most of today will be on the quiet side but a weak disturbance will move in tonight.

Skies will start out sunny throughout the morning hours. Few if any clouds will be around at first, but through the afternoon, a gradual increase and thickening of the clouds will take place.

The latter half of the afternoon will turn out to be overcast, as will the evening and overnight hours. No precipitation will fall during the day, but a few light rain showers or wet snowflakes will be possible this evening. Anything that falls should not amount to much.

Winds will start the day from the west but will turn to the northwest and increase during the late morning and afternoon. Wind speeds will top out around 15 mph during the early to mid afternoon with gusts around 35 mph.

The morning sunshine will help temperatures rise quickly, but then the increase in clouds and northwest winds will put a halt to the warming. Highs will be in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees.

Evening temperatures will settle into the mid 30s before overnight temperatures drop further, reaching a low in the mid 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next several days:

Tuesday: Clouds and some filtered sunshine. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with rain showers. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Thursday: Scattered rain showers. Morning lows near 40. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Friday: A few rain showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
