Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, March 24, 2022:

Warmer air will make a brief return to the area today.

A few lingering showers from the overnight will be possible through the mid-morning hours. After that, conditions should dry out for the midday and afternoon.

Some sun will poke in and out of the cloud cover. The more sun, the warmer it will get today.

High temperatures should reach the upper 50s and a few places may hit 60 degrees if enough sun shines.

Also aiding the warmer temperatures will be steady south-southeast and south winds. Wind speeds will not be as strong as last night, coming in around 10 mph. Top gusts should stay under 25 mph.

The chances for rain will increase again this evening. Showers and possibly a heavier downpour will be possible, mostly before midnight. After midnight, just a few stray showers or some drizzle will be possible.

Evening temperatures will retreat to the mid 40s. After midnight, temperatures will drop further, reaching the mid 30s by Friday morning.

Friday: Cloudy with drizzle and some rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid and upper 40s.

Saturday: Rain showers, possibly mixing with some higher elevation snow early. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Sunday: Snow showers. Breezy. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the low 30s.

Monday: Windy. Morning snow showers. Cold. Morning lows in the mid 10s. Afternoon highs near 20.
