Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, March 26, 2022:

Our weather pattern will remain unsettled today as waves of energy rotate around a stalled out low pressure system to our north.

Precipitation will again be possible at any time today. Early on this morning, what falls will either be snow, or perhaps a mix of rain and snow.

By the later morning hours, and through the afternoon, precipitation will turn over to rain. Snow will enter the picture again after sunset as it becomes the dominant precipitation type overnight.

There will be some chances for breaks of sun between the showers, particularly this afternoon, when the shower activity may become a bit less for a time.

Winds will start the day from the southwest but will fluctuate towards the west and northwest during the day. Wind speeds will be 5 to 10 mph with gusts around 20 mph.

Temperatures should reach the mid 40s this afternoon, which is spot on the climatological average for this time of year. Evening temperatures will settle in the low and mid 30s.

A cold front will move through after midnight tonight. This front will bring some widespread snow showers and will turn winds to the northwest.
