Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, March 29, 2022:

High pressure will build in today, but temperatures will remain well below average.

Clouds and some stray lake effect snow showers will continue this morning. The best chance for snow will be before 9 AM with clouds lingering into the midday hours.

The afternoon will then turn mostly sunny as the high pressure builds in.

Northwest winds will persist ahead of the high pressure. While not as strong as yesterday, they will still be blustery, especially this morning and into the early afternoon. Wind speeds will be just over 10 mph with gusts of 25-30 mph.

Temperatures will be held in check by the wind with highs in the upper 20s to low 30s.

Wind speeds will drop late this afternoon and evening as they shift to a more westerly direction. Evening winds will be near 5 mph with calm winds by Wednesday morning.

Skies will remain clear this evening, allowing temperatures to fall back into the upper 10s and low 20s. Clouds will build in after midnight, halting the falling temperatures.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy with a few rain or snow showers. Morning lows in the low 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Thursday: Rain showers likely. Maybe a few rumbles of thunder. Windy. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Friday: Rain showers, mixing with snow in the morning and evening. Windy. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Morning clouds, wind, and snow showers. Some afternoon sun. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 30s.
