Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, March 30

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, March 30, 2022:

A warm front will lift north through the region today with little fanfare but big impacts.

Skies will be cloudy throughout the day as the front moves through. Precipitation will be limited, though.

During the morning hours, a bit of light snow, sleet, or freezing drizzle will be possible. This wintry precipitation should be spotty and light enough to not cause any major travel issues.

During the afternoon, any precipitation should turn to some drizzle or light rain showers.

For the most part, though, it will be dry much or all of the day.

Winds will be nearly calm this morning, then will start to increase from the southeast and south. Wind speeds by the late afternoon will be 5-10 mph, and by the evening, 10-15 mph.

Gusts will be highest during the nighttime hours and will exceed 30 mph over the hilltops.

Temperatures will quickly rise this morning from a chilly start. By midday, temperatures will be into the mid 30s with afternoon highs around 40 degrees.

Evening temperatures will make a quick dip to the mid 30s before rising as the wind strengthens. By dawn Thursday, temperatures should be into the mid 40s.

Thursday: Rain showers likely. Maybe a few rumbles of thunder. Windy. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Friday: Rain showers, mixing with snow in the morning and evening. Windy. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Saturday: Morning clouds, wind, and snow showers. Some afternoon sun. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Sunday: Cloudy with snow showers possible. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs near 40.
