Cortland Weather Outlook: Saturday, April 2

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, April 2, 2022:

An area of high pressure will move through the region today bringing some quiet, sunnier weather.

Skies will be sunny throughout the morning and into the early afternoon. Then, some thin clouds will start to build in. At first, the sun should be able to shine through these clouds. By the end of the day, though, it should be noticeably cloudy.

Skies will remain cloudy this evening and through the overnight. No precipitation is expected until some snow showers move in close to dawn Sunday.

Temperatures will warm steadily with the sunshine this morning. Afternoon highs will be right on the climatological average, near or just above 45 degrees.

With the clouds tonight, temperatures will settle into the mid 30s. Overnight temperatures will drop to the low 30s.

Winds will be light from the northwest through the morning and first half of the afternoon. Speeds will be around 5 mph with gusts under 20 mph. 

Later in the afternoon, as the center of the high pressure moves overhead, winds will become nearly calm. A light southeasterly breeze will pick up this evening, again with speeds around 5 mph.

Sunday: Snow showers, mixing with some rain during the middle of the day. Morning lows in the low 30s.  Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Monday: Mostly cloudy. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. Some showers, especially early. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Wednesday: Rain showers possible. Morning lows in the upper 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
