Cortland Weather Outlook: Wednesday, April 6

Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, April 6, 2022:

A pair of disturbances will bookend our day with clouds and some showers.

The first is passing to our south early this morning. Rain showers will continue to be possible into the mid-morning hours before they pull off to the east. None of this rain should be heavy, and some northern parts of the county may not see much at all.

Some breaks of sun will work through the clouds during the latter morning and early afternoon hours. For the second half of the afternoon, new clouds ahead of the second system will move in.

Steady southeast winds will blow at speeds around 10 mph today. These winds will increase to near 15 mph tonight with gusts around 30 mph.

Temperatures will work their way into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees this afternoon. The more the sun shines through the clouds, the warmer it will be.

Nighttime temperatures will be slow to drop with temperatures near 50 for the first part of the evening before sliding into the mid 40s for the late evening and overnight.

Rain showers will move back in tonight, possibly as early as 9 PM. Most of the rain that falls will do so after midnight.
