Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, April 9, 2022:

There will be a couple chances for precipitation today as an unsettled weather pattern persists.

A large area of low pressure to the north is responsible for the multiple days of dreary weather.

A disturbance caught up in the broad counter-clockwise flow of air around the low will pass nearby this morning. Rain and snow showers will be possible though the midday hours as a result.

Temperatures will be borderline for snow, but a couple of slushy inches are not out of the question for higher elevations and cold pockets.

As the main precipitation winds down, a few more scattered rain showers will be possible through the afternoon. Tonight, flurries will be possible, especially after midnight.

Sunshine will be hard to come by, but a few breaks in the clouds this afternoon could lead to some brief glimpses.

Winds will primarily be from the northwest at 5-10 mph. Top gusts on the day will be around 20 mph.

Temperatures will remain in the mid and upper 30s this morning but should rise to the mid 40s this afternoon. Evening temperatures will quickly return to the 30s with overnight lows around 30 degrees.

Sunday: Snow showers, mixing with rain during the late morning and afternoon.  Morning lows around 30. Afternoon highs around 40.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. A few showers. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. A few showers or thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.
