The Homer Lady Trojans defeated the Cincinnatus Lady Lions 20-11 on the road Friday evening.

This was Homer’s first game of the regular season, bringing them to a 1-0 record, while Cincinnatus fell to 1-1.

“It was nice to play a game and for the girls to see another team,” said Homer head coach Cris Colasurdo. “The energy was great. We have areas we need to continue working on; but with this group of girls, I expect much improvement since they have been working hard, will give each other feedback, and encourage each other.”

The Lady Lions were able to get away with a 7 run lead at the end of the opening inning. However, the Lady Trojans rallied right back into the game after scoring 9 unanswered runs in the third inning and 3 runs in the fourth inning to make it 13-8.

After that, Homer extended their lead more and more until they finally won the game.

Homer was led by Cecelia Rappleyea (3 hits & 4 runs) and Catherine Apker (3 hits & 3 runs).
