Cortland Purple Tigers Defeat East Syracuse Minoa (Game Photos Included)

The Cortland Purple Tigers defeated East Syracuse Minoa (ESM) Tuesday afternoon with a score of 11-2. 

It was a close game at the beginning with it being 2-2 at the end of the second inning. 

Cortland was then able to pull away with the win after scoring 9 unanswered runs in the fifth and sixth innings. 

With this win, the Purple Tigers now hold a 3-0 overall record. 

The Tigers were led by Andrew Partigianoni (2 runs, 3 hits & 2 RBI’s), Caden Congdon (1 hit, 1 run & 1 RBI), Max Gambitta (1 hit & 1 run), Tyler Blake (2 runs), Ethan Hay (2 RBI’s), Caden Albright (2 runs), Alexander Dintino (1 run), Scott Hourigan (1 run, 3 hits & 1 RBI), Christopher Yang (1 run), Kooper Knabe (1 hit), and Luke Rogoff (1 hit).

ESM was led by Kevin Stewart (1 run & 2 hits), Daniel Gilkey (1 run), Trey Bova (1 hit & 1 RBI), and Jack Cook (1 hit). 

Cortland pitcher Kooper Knabe threw a total of 7 strikeouts; while Carter Stewart threw 1 strikeout for ESM.

Up next, Cortland will participate in the first round of the “Partigianoni Tournament” this Friday (April 15th) at the Gutchess Lumber Sports Park. Cortland is scheduled to play Moravia at noon in the first round of the tournament on Friday.
