Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, April 14, 2022:

A cold front will move through during the middle of the day, breaking the weather up into two distinct parts.

For this morning, skies will be a mix of clouds and some breaks of sun. South winds will persist with speeds of 5-10 mph.

Temperatures will quickly warm from an already mild start with low 70s likely by noon.

Around or shortly after noon, the cold front will move through. A quick band of showers and maybe a rumble of thunder will accompany the frontal passage.

Winds will turn to the west and northwest immediately behind the front with speeds increasing to 10-15 mph. Wind gusts of 25-30 mph will be possible.

Temperatures will quickly fall back to the mid 50s, where they should remain for the rest of the afternoon. Clouds will eventually depart, leading to some sunshine for the end of the day.

Skies will remain clear through the overnight with lighter winds turning back to the south. Evening temperatures will fall through the 40s with mid 30s for overnight lows.

Friday: Sunny with some afternoon clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Saturday: Rain showers likely. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Midday highs in the low 60s. Afternoon temperatures falling back to the 40s.

Sunday: Breezy. Mostly cloudy with rain and snow showers, especially in the morning and early afternoon. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 30s.

Monday: Morning sun replaced by afternoon clouds. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
