Your Cortland County weather forecast for Friday, April 15, 2022:

Blustery southwest winds will help temperatures stay mild for one final day before a major pattern shift takes place.

Sunshine will be plentiful early on today, but clouds will gradually increase. By the latter half of the afternoon, skies will be more cloudy than not.

The winds will increase this morning, helping the sunshine drive temperatures into the low 60s.

Wind will reach a peak in the early afternoon, with sustained speeds of 15-20 mph and gusts as high as 45 mph.

A cold front will be creeping southward toward the region and may bring a few stray showers into the area before the afternoon comes to a close. 

Shower activity will gradually tick up through the evening and overnight, but steadier rain will hold off until Saturday.

With the front remaining to the northwest through the night, temperatures this evening will stick to the low 50s with mid and upper 40s overnight. 

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Rain showers likely, possibly turning to snow late. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Midday highs in the mid 50s. Afternoon temperatures falling back to the upper 30s and low 40s.

Sunday: Breezy. Mostly cloudy with rain and snow showers, especially in the morning and early afternoon. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Monday: Morning sun replaced by afternoon clouds. Some rain and/or snow late. Morning lows in the mid 20s. Early afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Tuesday: Rain and snow showers likely. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.
