Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, April 19, 2022:

The weather will remain unsettled and cool today in the wake of last night’s late season snow.

Snowfall rates will continue to drop off this morning, and additional accumulation after sunrise will be hard to come by.

Precipitation will stick around, though, with snow showers gradually mixing with and changing over to rain during the midday and afternoon hours.

A few more snow showers will be possible tonight as the last of the precipitation slowly pulls away, again with little to no additional accumulation.

Blustery west winds will blow throughout the day with speeds around 15 mph. Frequent gusts of 30-35 mph are likely. The wind will only subside slightly tonight, with gusts as high as 30 mph continuing much of the night.

Temperatures will work their way to near or just above 40 degrees this afternoon. As temperatures climb and snow rates drop this morning, travel conditions should quickly improve.

This evening, temperatures will drop back to the mid 30s and will mostly hold steady through the overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Morning clouds. Afternoon sun. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Thursday: More clouds than sun. Afternoon rain showers. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs near 50.

Friday: Sunny with some thin clouds late. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: More clouds than sun. Maybe a late shower. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.
