Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, April 20, 2022:

High pressure will bring quiet weather in for today.

The high pressure will be centered to our southwest, which means winds will be from the northwest today.

The wind speeds will be strongest in the morning at around 10 mph. By the end of the day, the wind will be nearly calm.

Some morning cloudiness will dissipate, leaving sunny, precipitation-free conditions for most of the day. The strong April sun should help melt the snow that fell earlier this week.

Despite the sun, temperatures will remain below average. Look for afternoon highs in the mid to perhaps upper 40s.

Skies will stay mostly clear early this evening, but thin clouds will increase toward and after midnight. No precipitation is expected, even as the clouds continue to thicken overnight.

Nighttime temperatures will initially drop to around 30 degrees this evening but will then rise to the mid 30s overnight as south winds develop.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: More clouds than sun. Scattered rain showers. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 50.

Friday: Sunny with some thin clouds. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 50s.

Saturday: More clouds than sun. Maybe a late shower. Morning lows in the low 30s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Sunday: A good deal of sunshine. Warm. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
