Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, April 24, 2022:

Temperatures will surge today for one of, if not the warmest days yet this Spring.

Sunshine will be plentiful throughout the day. Occasional patches of thin clouds will mix in at times but will not do much to block the sunshine.

The clouds will thicken this evening, but no rain is expected during the daytime or nighttime hours.

Winds will blow from the south at 5-10 mph day and night. Generally, the winds tonight will be a bit stronger than during the day. Top gusts should come in around 20 mph, though some hilltops could gust to 25 mph

The south winds and sunshine will both contribute to the warm temperatures. Afternoon highs should easily make it into the mid 70s, with upper 70s a possibility in some of the typically warmer areas.

Temperatures will drop to the 50s this evening and will slowly back into the mid 40s overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Mostly cloudy. Maybe a shower before sunset, but best chance for rain coming after midnight. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Tuesday: Cloudy with some showers, especially early. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.
