Your Cortland County weather forecast for Monday, April 25, 2022:

While not quite as warm as yesterday, temperatures today will remain well above average before a cold front moves through overnight.

Out ahead of the front, there should be plenty of cloud cover today. The sun may shine through the clouds at times, especially during the morning and midday hours. A gradual thickening of the cloud should take place this afternoon.

A stray shower cannot be ruled out at almost any time today. The chances for rain will inch upward this afternoon, but most areas should stay completely dry well into the evening hours.

South winds will blow throughout the day today with speeds of 10-15 mph. Top gusts will approach, but should not exceed 30 mph.

The south winds will keep temperatures propped up, but the lack of sunshine will make today’s highs fall just short of the highs yesterday. Expect low to perhaps mid 70s this afternoon.

Temperatures will settle into the mid 50s this evening and the low 50s overnight.

Rain will become more likely after midnight as the front moves through. All areas should see some light rain that may linger into early Tuesday morning.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Tuesday: Early showers…some breaks of afternoon sun. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 50s.

Wednesday: Breezy. Rain showers, mixing with snow at times. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Thursday: Maybe an early flurry. Sunny much of the day. Breezy. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the mid 40s.

Friday: Sunny. Still a bit breezy. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.
