Your Cortland County weather forecast for Tuesday, April 26, 2022:

One cold front moved through the area overnight and a second will arrive tonight.

Clouds, some drizzle, and perhaps a rain shower will be possible this morning as the front continues to pull away to the east. Most areas will see little to no additional rain this morning, though.

The clouds will remain form much of the day, with only a brief glimpse of sunshine here or there expected, if even that.

Northwest winds behind the front will blow at 5-10 mph. Top gusts on the day should be just 15-20 mph.

Though the wind will not be strong, combined with the clouds, it will be enough to keep temperatures from rising much. Look for afternoon highs only a few degrees above the morning lows in the mid and low 50s.

Rain showers will start to move back toward the area this evening, but most of the precipitation will hold off until midnight or later. As cooler air settles, the rain should turn to flurries before dawn Wednesday.

No more than a light coating of snow is expected, with most areas seeing no accumulation on the ground.

Evening temperatures will be in the mid and low 40s, but behind the front, mid 30s are expected overnight.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Breezy. Morning flurries. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the low 40s.

Thursday: Sunny, breezy and cool. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the low and mid 40s.

Friday: Sunny. Still a bit breezy. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Saturday: More sunshine. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.
