Your Cortland County weather forecast for Thursday, April 28, 2022:

High pressure will dominate the weather today, and for the next several days.

Skies cleared overnight, and outside of a small chance for a few lingering clouds early this morning, sunshine will rule the day.

Blue skies should last until sundown with starlight through the overnight.

The center of the high pressure will be to our west over the Great Lakes. Meanwhile, the low pressure system that brought the early week unsettled weather will still be lingering just east of Maine.

This will set up another day of blustery northwest winds. Wind speeds will be around 15 mph with gusts around 35 mph.

The sunshine will help it not be quite as cold as yesterday, but the wind will ensure it does not warm up much. Look for highs in the mid 40s this afternoon.

Winds will let up after sunset, allowing for another cold night. Expect evening temperatures to quickly drop into the mid 30s with overnight lows making it to the upper 20s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Friday: Sunny. Still a bit breezy. Morning lows in the upper 20s. Afternoon highs in the upper 40s.

Saturday: More sunshine. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the low 50s.

Sunday: Sunny and thin clouds. Morning lows near 30. Afternoon highs in the low 60s.

Monday: Sun, clouds, and perhaps some late day showers or thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.
