The Homer Lady Trojans beat Phoenix 21-14 at home Thursday evening in order to improve to a 2-6 overall record.

Catherine Apker started things off with a solo home-run in the bottom of the first inning of the game.

According to Homer head coach Cris Colasurdo, Apker’s home-run was followed by four Homer walks and two errors from Phoenix to help the Lady Trojans take a 5-4 lead.

Phoenix was then able to retake the lead after scoring four runs in the top of the second inning, making it 5-8.

From then on, the game became a back and forth affair.

With it being a tied game (12-12) after the top of the sixth inning, Homer battled their way to close out the game with nine total runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Phoenix would attempt to make a serious comeback in the final inning, but Homer’s lead was too great to overcome.

Here is a score breakdown of the game:

Up next, Homer will take on Skaneateles on the road today (April 29th) at 5pm.
