According to the county health department, the spread of COVID-19 in Cortland County has risen to a high level of transmission as of April 29.
As of April 28, there have been 11,139 total positive cases, 655 total hospitalizations and 118 deaths in the county. According to the state as of April 28, the daily average of positive tests amongst county residents is 8.8%, and the weekly average of cases per 100K is 42.4.
Out of this week’s numbers, there have been five new hospitalizations (with six currently hospitalized) and two new deaths.
The recent percentage of county residents fully vaccinated that are 5 years-or-older is 62.6%. Additional county numbers show that 57.2% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
