Cortland County man shot bullets at vehicles

A Town of Marathon man was recently arrested after he shot at multiple vehicles in the Town of Harford, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report states that Billy Jack Foster Jr., 28, was taken into custody after county sheriff’s deputies investigated “a criminal mischief incident,” where a handful of vehicle owners noted their vehicle “had been struck by bullets.”

One of the vehicles was occupied at the time of the vehicle being struck by a bullet, the report notes. The investigation of the incident determined that Foster was the one who fired the bullets.

Sheriff’s deputies executed a search warrant at 59 Rt. 200 in Harford. Deputies secured firearms, along with controlled substances and drug paraphernalia, the report states.

Foster has been charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a Class-D Felony), fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and three counts of second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia (all Class-A Misdemeanors).

The report notes that the investigation is ongoing. Foster may face additional charges at a later date, the report continues.

Foster was processed through the centralized arraignment program and released on one’s own recognizance.
