The Homer Trojans hosted Mexico for a dual meet on Wednesday (May 4th).
Here are the results and highlights of both the Homer varsity boys and girls track & field teams:

Highlights
- Cooper Van Dee won 1st place in the 200 meter dash (Time- 24.8) and the 400 meter run (Time- 53.2). Both of Van Dee’s times were season bests and the 200 meter dash time qualifies him for Sectionals.
- Tommy Mahunik won 1st place in the 800 meter run (Time- 2:22.8). He also came in 2nd in the 400 meter run (Time- 53.7).
- Brodrick Butts won 1st place in the 100 meter dash (Time- 12.0). He also placed 2nd in the 200 meter dash (Time- 25.3). His 200 meter dash time qualifies him for Sectionals.
- Logan Darling won 1st place in the discus throw event (Result- 99’3”) and came in 3rd in the shot put event (Result- 34’ 7”).
- Damian Brown (2:32.3), Matt Fish (2:33.4), Tommy Mahunik (2:47.7), and Cooper Van Dee (2:38.2) won 1st place in the 4x800 meter relay (Combined Time- 10:31.4).
- Zane Moheimani placed 2nd in the 3,200 meter run (Time- 11:52.3). He also placed 3rd in the 1,600 meter run (Time- 5:21.5). His 1,600 meter time was a personal best.
- Matt FIsh placed 2nd in the pole vault event (Result- 7’0”).
- Tasker Dennis finished 2nd in the shot put event (Result- 35’7”).
- Jonah Campos placed 2nd in the discus throw event (Result- 83’10”).
- Riley Ferris came in 3rd in the discus throw event (Result- 77’ 2”). His discus throw was a personal best.
- Dylan Pittsley placed 3rd in the long jump event (Result- 14’8.5”).
- Damian Brown finished 3rd in the 3,200 meter run (Time- 11:54.2).
- Gabe Austin ran a season best time of 12.4 seconds in the 100 meter dash, which qualifies him for Sectionals.

Highlights
- Jane Gugerty won 1st place in the 100 meter hurdles (Time- 17.8), the 400 meter hurdles (Time74.8), the triple jump event (Result- 30’7”), and the pole vault event (Result- 7’0”). Her pole vault performance was a personal best.
- Hannah McMasters won 1st place in the shot put event (Result- 33’10.25”) and the discus throw event (Result- 73’7”). Her shot put throw broke her own senior class record).
- Camdyn Cole won 1st place in the 200 meter dash (Time- 28.9) and the 400 meter run (Time- 68.9). She also placed 2nd in the high jump event (Result- 4’6”). Her 200 meter time was a season best and qualifies her for Sectionals.
- Emma Rahner won 1st place in the 3,000 meter run (Time- 14:07.9). Her 3,000 meter run time was a personal best.
- Maggie Mahunik finished 2nd in the 1,500 meter run (Time- 6:17.9) and in the 3,000 meter run (Time- 14:12.5). Her 3,000 meter run time was a personal best.
- Alyssa Swayze placed 2nd in the 800 meter run (Time- 2:47.0). Her 800 meter run time was her best of the year.
- Mayshelle Hyde came in 2nd in the shot put event (Result- 23’3.25”). Her shot put throw was a personal best.
- Harlie St. John came in 2nd in the discus throw event (Result- 64’11”). Her discus throw was a personal best.
- Morgan Robideau finished 3rd in the long jump event (Result- 12’9.5”). Her long jump was a season best.
