Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, May 8, 2022:

High pressure has built into the area and will keep a firm grip on our weather today and for much of the coming week.

The best chance for a few thin clouds will be this morning. Otherwise, it will be start to finish sunshine today and clear skies tonight.

Northeast winds will blow at 5-10 mph since the high pressure is located to our northeast. Top gusts on the day will come in around 20 mph.

Temperatures will still be a touch below the seasonal average, but it will not be too chilly, either. Look for afternoon highs around or just shy of 60 degrees.

Tonight, temperatures will quickly fall through the 40s and into the 30s. A few frosty pockets cannot be ruled out.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Sunny. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs in the mid 60s.

Tuesday: More sunshine. Morning lows in the mid 30s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Wednesday: Sun and a few clouds. Morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Thursday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
