Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from May 9-15. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

The transmission of COVID-19 in Cortland County is still at a high level as of May 13, according to the county health department.

As of May 8, there have been 11,415 total positive cases, 672 total hospitalizations and 120 deaths in the county. According to the state’s COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 7.4% and 31.7, respectively.

According to the county health department in regard to totals for the week of May 9-15, there were 165 positive cases, six hospitalizations and two deaths.

As of May 15, the percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is over 59.5%, with 62.8% of residents that are 5 years-or-older reported as fully vaccinated. Additional county numbers show that 57.6% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
