Homer Girls Lacrosse Team Defeats Cortland in County Rivalry Game

The Homer Lady Trojans defeated the Cortland Lady Tigers with a final score of 13-2 at Homer High School Monday night. 

With this result, Homer improved their overall record to 12-3; while Cortland fell to 4-10. 

Homer was led by Kloey Roos (7 goals), Gracie Patriarco (1 goal & 3 assists), Madison Wethje (1 goal & 1 assist), Hannah Slade (2 goals), Maria Partis (1 goal & 1 assist), Mallory Douglass (1 goal), and Sarah Sovocool (3 saves). 

According to Homer coach Morgan Seibel, during the game Kloey Roos reached her 300th career point.  

Cortland’s two goals were scored by Lillian Call and Gabrielle Cranfield.

Up next, Homer is scheduled to play Marcellus on the road tonight (May 17th) at 7pm; while Cortland plays Syracuse at 6pm on the road tonight (May 17th). 

According to the Section III website, there will be a sectional playoff tournament seeding meeting on Wednesday (May 18th), where we will find out which teams qualified as well as who they will be facing in the tournament.
