According to the county health department, as of May 20, the level of COVID-19 transmission in Cortland County has been lowered to medium.

As of May 22, there have been 11,480 total positive cases, 672 total hospitalizations and 121 deaths in the county. According to the state’s COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 4.1% and 19.4, respectively.

According to the county health department in regard to totals for the week of May 16-22, there were 128 positive cases, five hospitalizations and two deaths.

As of May 22, the percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is over 59.6%, with 62.8% of residents that are 5 years-or-older reported as fully vaccinated. Additional county numbers show that 57.8% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
