The 2nd-seeded Homer Lady Trojans defeated Whitesboro (#7 seed) with a final score of 17-5 in the quarterfinal round of the Section III Class C Sectional Tournament.
It was a close first half battle, with Homer only having a 4 goal lead at halftime.
However, the Lady Trojans would go on to shutout Whitesboro and explode on offense in the second half to close out the game.
Homer was led by Kloey Roos (6 goals), Maria Partis (4 goals), Hannah Slade (3 goals & 1 assist), Gracie Patriarco (1 goal & 5 assists), Madison Wethje (2 goals), and Mallory Douglass (1 goal).
Whitesboro was led by Gianna Parise (3 goals), Brinley Ronan (2 goals), and Maria Stuhlman (1 assist).
Homer goalie Sarah Sovocool made a total of 8 saves in the game, while Becky Thomas recorded 3 saves for Whitesboro.

This was Homer’s last home game of the season.
Up next, Homer will play Fulton (#3 seed) in the semifinal round of the sectional tournament. The game is scheduled to take place at Central Square High School this Thursday (May 26th) at 7pm.
