Your Cortland County weather forecast for Saturday, May 28, 2022:

The weather today will be changing as low pressure departs and high pressure builds in.

For the morning hours, it will be cloudy with occasional showers. None of the rain should be overly heavy and thunderstorms are not expected. Most areas should see at least a little rain this morning.

By the midday hours, most of the rain will be off to the southeast and dry air will start to move in. Skies will turn partly cloudy with puffy fair weather cumulus clouds.

An isolated brief shower may be spit out of one or two of the larger cumulus clouds, but this should be rare, and most areas will remain dry after the morning rain ends.

Skies will continue to clear tonight, with mostly clear skies expected throughout the nighttime hours.

With low pressure departing, winds will be out of the northwest. Wind speeds could go over 10 mph at times this afternoon with gusts near or just over 25 mph.

With these winds in place and only partial sunshine in the latter half of the day, temperatures will be held in check. Most areas should see highs in just the mid 60s.

Tonight, temperatures will fall into the 50s with an overnight low in the upper 40s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Sunny with a few clouds. Morning lows in the upper 40s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Monday: Sun with some thin clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Tuesday: Sunny with a few clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Maybe an afternoon shower or storm. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.
