Your Cortland County weather forecast for Sunday, May 29, 2022:

High pressure is taking back control of our weather for the second half of the Memorial Day weekend, starting with today.

Sunshine will be plentiful throughout the day, though some fair weather clouds and thin clouds aloft will mix in at times.

These clouds should do little to reduce the available sunshine. No rain will fall, either.

With the high passing overhead, winds will be nearly calm much of the day. What slight breeze there is will come in the afternoon as a southwest wind sets up with speeds under 5 mph.

It will be a warm but not too hot afternoon with highs topping out in the mid to perhaps upper 70s.

There should be little change in the winds overnight, though the direction will turn more towards due south. Only thin clouds are expected.

Evening temperatures will drop to the low 60s and upper 50s with overnight lows reaching the mid 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Monday: Sun with some thin clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Tuesday: Sunny with a few clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Scattered showers and thunderstorms possible late. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Thursday: More clouds than sun. Occasional showers or storms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
