A cold front will move through today with several waves of rain showers this afternoon.

A rain shower cannot be ruled out this morning, but most of the time, it should be dry. Clouds will be plentiful and south winds will increase.

The wind will peak during the midday and early afternoon hours with speeds up to 15 mph. Top gusts should clock in between 30-40 mph.

Temperatures will also reach their highpoint during the early afternoon. Mid 70s are a possibility, especially if a few periods of sunshine break through the overcast.

Rain will move in from the west in several waves of showers. Late in the afternoon, a few thundery downpours may also be possible. Most areas will see around a half-inch of rain, but there will be variability.

Some areas could see under a quarter of an inch, while others see over an inch. It all depends on how the showers and any downpours move across the region.

Temperatures during the rainier afternoon will drop to the upper 60s and low 70s. After sunset, as the rain tapers off, temperatures will slide into the low 60s.

The overnight should be relatively quiet with lows backing into the mid 50s. Some areas of fog will be possible.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Thursday: Periods of rain possible, but still uncertain. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Friday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs near 70.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with some showers possible. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 60s.
