Woman stabs victim with broken glass

A Town of Cortlandville woman was arrested this past Friday after she “cut and then stabbed” a victim “in the hand with broken glass,” according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

The report states that Erica L. Allen, 41, “engaged in a physical altercation” with the victim at a residence. That’s when Allen proceeded to cut and stab the victim in the hand with broken glass.

The report notes that two children witnessed the altercation between Allen and the victim. Neither of the children were harmed during the incident, the report continues.

Allen has been charged with second-degree assault (a Class-D Felony), fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (a Class-A Misdemeanor) and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child (a Class-A Misdemeanor).

Allen was arraigned and released under the supervision of alternatives to incarceration, the report states. She is slated to appear in Cortlandville court at 11 a.m. June 22.
