Town of Cortlandville Holds Hall of Fame Ceremony

On Friday, June 24th the Town of Cortlandville, Town Board held a special meeting to recognize and induct 7 members to the "Town of Cortlandville Hall of Fame". Due to COVID restrictions in year's past, two classes of nominations were inducted yesterday.

One of the inductees- Class of 2021, Jack Harvey. Jack has served with the Cortlandville Fire Department since it's inception in 1981. Jack was also appointed as the Charter Captain of Frank K. Taylor Hose Co. 4 of the Homer Fire Department. Jack served as Fire Captain and Assistant Chief with Hose Co.4, until Hose Co. 4 resigned from the Homer Fire Department and became the Cortlandville Fire District. Jack was appointed as one of the Charter Fire Commissioners by the Cortlandville Town Board, a position in which he held for 30 years. Jack is still active with the department today and is the only continuous serving member from the department's beginnings in 1981.

Also receiving awards yesterday were the Honorable Francis Casullo- Retired Town Justice, Councilman Ronald Rocco, Councilman Edwin O'Donnell, Town Supervisor and Councilman Melvin Pierce, Town Supervisor Richard Tupper and Deputy Supervisor and Councilman Theodore "Ted" Testa.

Retired Town of Cortlandville Water Department Superintendent Pete Alteri was honored by having the municipal garage named the "Peter Alteri Municipal Building" Pete also served many years with the Cortlandville Fire Department
