The annual Cortland County Junior Fair will be from July 5 to July 9 at the Cortland County Fairgrounds on 4301 Fairgrounds Dr. in Cortland.

The first day of the fair (July 5) starts out with rabbit and poultry shows, and wraps up with the fair queen contest. This year’s contestants are Ruby Metcalf (of Pitcher), daughter of Jacob and Shannen Metcalf; and Alice Tytulki (of Cortland), daughter of Tom Tytulki and Bonnie Muffoletto.

The second day (July 6) includes livestock animal shows during the day, and the barnyard olympics in the evening. The third day (July 7) are the dairy animal shows, while the fourth day (July 8) has dairy cattle breed shows.

The fifth and final day of the fair (July 9) is “Dairy Products Day,” which includes a slew of contests and entertainment. The fair will wrap up with a fireworks display at dusk on Saturday.
