High pressure will move through the area today keeping the weather calm and quiet.

Winds will be very light beneath the high pressure system. Wind speeds under 5 mph are expected, with just a whisper of a breeze coming in from the south.

Skies will be sunny with some occasional wisps of thin cirrus clouds. A few small fair weather clouds may bubble up during the midday and afternoon hours as well. No rain will fall, though.

Temperatures will be close to the seasonal averages with afternoon highs topping out near or just above 80 degrees. The best chance for temperatures into the low 80s will be in and around the city of Cortland and in the southern reaches of the county.

Skies will remain mostly clear this evening with an increase in thin clouds overnight. Winds will also increase from the south, but will remain light with speeds around 5 mph.

This will keep temperatures a bit milder overnight with lows dropping to the low 60s.
