Skies will brighten today as a cold front departs the region.

Clouds and a few showers will hold on through the early morning hours. The chances for rain will drop after 8 AM, and the clouds will depart before noon.

That will leave skies mostly sunny for the afternoon with no additional rain.

Northwest winds will set up behind the front but will not be overly strong. Expect wind speeds near or a bit over 5 mph with top gusts on the day coming in under 20 mph.

Temperatures will be close to the seasonal averages with highs in the upper 70s. Dewpoints will be in the 40s and 50s, so it will not feel the least bit humid.

Skies will remain mostly clear this evening and through the overnight. Wind speeds will drop and may become calm at times. Temperatures will be quick to drop through the 60s this evening with an overnight low in the mid 50s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Sunday: Sun and just a few clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.

Monday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Perhaps some showers and thunderstorms. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs near 80.

Wednesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the upper 50s. Afternoon highs in the upper 70s.
