Rob Reyngoudt, a school resource officer (SRO) for the Cortland Enlarged City School District (CECSD), is making a difference nationally.

Reyngoudt is currently teaching a basic SRO course at the 32nd annual National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO) School Safety Conference in Aurora, Colorado. The course that Reyngoudt is teaching started this past Saturday, and wraps up Thursday.

The conference is being held in conjunction with the Colorado Association of School Resource Officers (CASRO).

According to the NASRO Facebook page, it is described as a “non-profit organization for school-based law enforcement officers, school administrators, and school security/safety professionals working as partners to protect students, school faculty and staff and the schools they attend.”

Reyngoudt retired from the City of Cortland police force in April. He was recently a full-time SRO at CECSD, but is now in a part-time role for the school district.
