Cortland County COVID-19 Wrap-Up for Wednesday, July 6

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 numbers in Cortland County from June 27-July 1. It is based on recorded information from the Cortland County Health Department and the New York State Department of Health.

According to the county health department, as of July 1, the level of COVID-19 transmission in Cortland County is low. For the week of June 27-July 1, there were 39 positive cases and one hospital admission, but no new deaths.

As of July 4, there have been 11,687 total positive cases, over 699 total hospitalizations and 123 deaths in the county. According to the state’s current COVID-19 tracker, the 7-day average for percentage who test positive and cases per 100K is 3.9% and 7.2, respectively. 

As of the end of June, the percentage of county residents fully vaccinated is under 60%, with 63.1% of residents that are 5 years-or-older reported as fully vaccinated. Additional county numbers show that 58.3% of county residents are fully vaccinated with a booster shot.
