Your Cortland County weather forecast for Wednesday, July 6, 2022:

High pressure will gradually build into the region today leading to some eventual sunshine.

For the morning, though, clouds will hang tough. Some areas of drizzle and fog will also be possible, along with a stray shower or two early on.

By the midday hours, the atmosphere should begin to dry. Drizzle will cease and the clouds will start to break up. 

Sunshine will increase through the afternoon with mostly clear skies by sunset.

North-northwest winds will set up between the departing low and the approaching high. Wind speeds will be around 10 mph with gusts around 20 mph.

Temperatures will be held in check with highs in the mid 70s. 

Skies will remain mostly clear this evening and through the overnight. Winds will decrease and temperatures will drop back into the mid 50s for nighttime low temperatures.

Thursday: Morning sun. Increasing afternoon clouds. Evening rain and thunder. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: A few early showers. Increasing afternoon sun. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Saturday: Mostly sunny. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs in the low 70s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows near 50. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.
