High pressure will build in today with quiet weather conditions.

Sunshine will be plentiful today, though, as usual, fair weather clouds will develop. Most of the clouds today should be small and no stray rain showers are expected.

With the center of high pressure moving in from the west, winds will be light. This morning, a slight northwest breeze will blow at up to 5 mph. During the afternoon, the wind direction will become variable with winds mostly under 5 mph.

Top gusts on the day will only reach a little over 10 mph.

The sunshine will be efficient at warming the atmosphere even without the extra help of warming winds. Highs will be near or just above 80 degrees. Some of the hilltops in the northern part of the county may stick to the upper 70s.

The air will be dry with dewpoints well into the 40s. Relative humidity values will respond by dropping below 30 percent.

Skies will be mostly clear overnight, allowing temperatures to fall back into the 50s. Most areas should drop to the mid 50s, but some cooler pockets will be possible.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Saturday: Lots of sun. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 80s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Scattered showers and storms late. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the upper 80s.

Monday: Clouds and steady rain possible. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Tuesday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.
