High pressure will keep control of the weather today but will shift its position eastward.

The change in position will result in a change in wind direction as well. Light southwest winds are expected today with speeds around 5 mph. Top gusts should be near or under 20 mph.

Temperatures will nudge upwards with the southwest winds with highs topping out in the low 80s.

No rain is expected, though sunshine and cloud cover will battle for control of the skies. Sometimes it will be rather sunny, others rather cloudy.

Late in the afternoon and early this evening, a deck of clouds high in the atmosphere will move in. Mostly cloudy skies will continue through the night, and a stray shower cannot be totally ruled out.

Southwest winds will persist at around 5 mph through the overnight. Temperatures will be warmer than the last two nights as a result. During the evening, mid and upper 60s should be expected. Overnight lows will be in the low 60s.

Here is a look at the weather for the next few days:

Thursday: Scattered showers and storms. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs in the low 80s.

Friday: Maybe some early showers. Afternoon sun. Morning lows in the low 60s. Afternoon highs around 80.

Saturday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the mid 50s. Afternoon highs in the mid 70s.

Sunday: Sun and clouds. Morning lows in the low 50s. Afternoon highs near 80.
