County Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested for DWI following accident

A Town of Cincinnatus man was arrested recently stemming from an accident where he drove while intoxicated, according to a Cortland County Sheriff’s Office report.

According to the report, Sean K. Klein, 38, was involved in a single motor-vehicle accident on North Tower Road in the Town of Solon. At the scene, county sheriff’s officers determined that Klein was intoxicated, the report states.

Klein went to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Klein has been charged with driving while intoxicated (a misdemeanor), speed not reasonable and prudent and driving across hazard markings (both infractions). He is scheduled to appear in Solon court at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 24 for arraignment.

Man arrested for ‘driving while impaired by drugs’

A Town of Cortlandville man was recently arrested after he was discovered to be “driving while ability impaired by drugs,” according to a county sheriff’s office report.

The report states that Andrew Shevchenko, 23, was found “unresponsive” on South Street in the Village of McGraw (near Cortlandville) while outside of a running vehicle. County sheriff’s officers assisted Emergency Medical Services at the scene.

Through investigation, the report notes, it was determined that Shevchenko drove while impaired by drugs.

Shevchenko has been charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (both misdemeanors). He was issued an appearance ticket and is set to appear in Cortlandville court at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 1 for arraignment.
