Teachers, faculty & staff, and students (past and present) gathered at F.S. Barry Primary School Wednesday evening for the unveiling of a time capsule that’s been in the ground since 2002.
Fred Amante, the principal of Barry School when the time capsule went into the ground near the school’s flagpole, officially unveiled the capsule in front of a large crowd.
The time capsule had a variety of items, including newspapers, toys, magazines, class projects and more.
Amante noted it’s the second time in Barry School’s history that a time capsule went into the ground. The first time, Amante added, occurred in 1976 and was officially unveiled in 2000.
The school also revealed additional time capsules that were stored in an undisclosed location.
