SUNY Cortland football coach Curt Fitzpatrick, along with Ithaca College coach Michael Toerper, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Yankee Stadium Thursday evening.

The ceremony took place prior to the New York Yankees’ matchup against the Kansas City Royals. The Yankees held Cortaca Jug Day on Thursday in anticipation of the Bombers-Red Dragons’ annual Cortaca Jug game at 1 p.m. Nov. 12 at Yankee Stadium.

“We don’t play for millions of dollars. We play for a couple of (Cortaca) jugs. It’s special,” said Fitzpatrick in an interview with Yankees broadcaster Michael Kay during Thursday’s game.
